Overview

Emailnator's free tier is built to need as little from you as possible: no account, no sign-up, no personal profile. This policy explains what the site does collect, why, and how the third-party services that keep the site running and free (advertising, security) handle their own data.

Information we collect

Generated addresses and messages

When you generate an address, we don't ask for or store any information about who you are. Messages sent to a free-tier address are stored for 24 hours (with a 7-day backup window behind the scenes) so the inbox works, and are not linked to any personal profile, because none exists. Every free-tier inbox is public: anyone who has the exact address can read its messages, the same as we can.

Contact form

If you use our contact form, we collect the name (optional), email address, subject, and message you provide, solely to respond to you. This is verified with Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam submissions, and delivered to our support inbox through our email provider, Resend.

Server logs and rate limiting

Like most web services, our servers log request data, including IP address, to keep the service reliable and to rate-limit abuse (for example, preventing one source from generating excessive bulk addresses). This data is used operationally and is not used to build a profile of you.

Local storage

A few features (your light/dark theme choice, your current 10 Minute Mail address, and whether you've dismissed the cookie notice) are stored in your browser's local storage, not sent to us. See our Cookies page for the full list.

How we use information

• Operating the address generator and inboxes.
• Responding to messages sent through the contact form.
• Detecting and preventing abuse of the service.
• Understanding site usage, in aggregate, to improve it.

We do not sell personal information.

Third-party services

This site is free because it's ad-supported, and it uses a few third-party services to run and protect it: Google AdSense, Google Tag Manager, Google Funding Choices (our consent tool), BuySellAds, Google reCAPTCHA (contact form spam protection), and Resend (contact form email delivery). Each operates under its own privacy policy, and some may set their own cookies; see our Cookies page for the full list and links.

Data retention

• Free-tier messages: 24 hours, with an internal 7-day backup window for restore requests.
• Contact form messages: kept as long as needed to respond to and resolve your request.
• Free-tier addresses: not tied to an account, so there's no personal profile to retain or delete beyond the message data above.

Gmailnator Premium

Premium is a separate, account-based product at premium.emailnator.com with its own registration and private inboxes. This policy covers the free site only; Premium's data handling is described where you sign up for it.

Your choices

You can opt out of personalized Google advertising at adssettings.google.com, manage or clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings, and reach us anytime to ask what data we hold about a contact form submission you sent.

Children's privacy

Emailnator is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the data we do handle, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
